Set the splintered bones of your scarecrow man-god

Watch him weep

In the stony olive grove

As he burns the olive trees to angry neon ash

In the settled olive grove of pioneers, oh, pioneers, blessed, commanded,

In olive groves usurped from siblings

Usurped from

brothers

sisters

shaken duplicate gods

Usurped from brothers sisters gods,

Shaken,

At their duplication, eviction

Scar the olive trees into illness alien

Into contracts unnatural

Into angles unbalanced, unbecoming

Into curves of reaches desperate for suns not of their owning

Bend, twist, grope for gods not of their making

Boots and trees and voices

Shaking

Fists raised like knotted roots

Cancerous and grudging at

At prophets making poor choices, at

Gods wearing the wrong boots
